I had both those census (1860 and 1870) and failed to notice how much the value of the land and personal estate changed until you pointed them out. Also, than you for the description of where the land would be today.

Thank you for the confirmation on the muster rolls for Nov/Dec 1863. In all likelihood J.L. Frazier is our John Lewis Frazier since the timing is right, the area is right, and the people are right. I'll work to confirm that there weren't others that could have been the J. L. Frazier...but it makes sense that he would have been in the reserves and not the main Confederate Army since he was in his early 40s at the time.
