question about a court martial

Thomas W. R. Vardaman from Talladega County, Alabama, served in Co. K 18th Alabama. He enlisted as a nineteen year old on 04 June 1861. I've read a reference to his court martial G. O. No. 5-18 on 19 Jan 1864. Is there any way to find out the reason(s) for the court martial? And also, is it possible to know the result? He must not have been dismissed from the Confederate Army because he was still serving on 02 October 1864 when he was killed on picket duty. He is buried at the Confederate Cemetery, at Spotsylvania Courthouse in Virginia. Any information about the court martial will be appreciated.
Thanks, Lynda Lowery
