William R. Brown was a late enrollment, enlisting on Feb. 7, 1863. He appears on roll with Co. "F", 2nd Battalion, Hilliard's Alabama Legion, which later became Co. "C', 59th Alabama Regiment. The last roll on which Brown's name appears dated February 1864 notes that he had been sent to a hospital at Rogersville TN. I don't see an Alabama pension application in his name, but it may be that he or his widow moved to another state after the war.
