I've talked to Jack Cabaniss and his son Jim. I have the information from Dr. Allen Cabaniss from Mississippi. This bit about the deserters is just so interesting. I thought there would have been something else written possibly. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the advice about Ralph Cabaniss.
