Thank you so much for this information. My great grandmother, Sydney Jane Green, was the daughter of Miranda Cabaniss and Samuel Green. Miranda's father was Madison Cabaniss (b. 1829 d. 1886) who married Emeline Powell. Madison was the son of Peter Randolph Cabaniss who died in 1834. I am trying to sort out Madison's brothers and sisters. Apparently Betsey Ann Cabaniss married a Powell, the brother of Emeline Powell wife of Madison. I thought the tales of the brothers who kept switching sides in the war was quite interesting. Does my information match up with yours?
