I'm related to Roberta. Sanford Pruet was my maternal g-g-grandfather. My grandmother was the daughter of his youngest son (Sanford, Jr.) who was born after Sanford died. I have pictures of Sanford Pruet, Jr. just arriving at a Sons of the Confederacy meeting in a buggy. My grandmother said he never missed a meeting.

Really, I could go on and on. Many members of both sides of my family served in the civil war and a great many of the young men in the family died. Possibly my most famous realtive was Addison Milton Wier, who was my paternal g-g-grandfather. He worked at the Atlanta Journal Constitution and wrote under the pen name Sarge Plunkett. He wrote a book about his adventures in the civil war as well as southern folk tales.
