The Alabama in the Civil War Message Board

Re: Federal Provost Marshal records

Alan,

I understand that you have been "under-employed" of late. I'm not familiar with your resume, but surely there is some university, library, or archive that would relish having your vast knowledge on the Civil War and the records, at their disposal. Failing that, have you considered running monthly or weekly Civil War Symposiums? I would pay to hear you speak on a wide range of Civil War topics. Perhaps you could contact various re-enactment groups or SCV Camps and offer to put on a program for a modest fee ($10-$20/head).

I hope you don't mind me sharing some ideas on this public forum. I apologize if I'm overstepping the bounds of this board, but it truly pains me to know that such a talented resource has fallen on difficult times. Have a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
