I have been working with original Civil War flags since 1974. I never heard of Bible flags until the attribution popped up in a catalogue a few years ago. Since then it has spread like wild fire especially on ebay and through dealers (sutlers). So far every Bible flag that I have encountered is a fake. Prior to "Bible flags" they were called miniatures and in contemporary accounts "little flags." I think for the most part they were intended as souvenirs for loved ones, each one being unique. If you have found a contemporary account that mentions a Bible flag please let me know. Thanks.
