In Response To: Jeramiah J Mullins ()

This soldier belonged to the "Saint Clair Sharpshooters", an independent company which had been stationed in North Carolina. In May 1863 his company was ordered to report to the 9th Alabama Battalion in Tennessee. This was one of two companies needed to reorganize the battalion as a regiment. Accordingly, all of the records for Jeremiah Mullins are filed with Co. "I", 58th Alabama Regiment.

Jeremiah Mullins died of disease at Academy Hospital in Chattanooga, July 16, 1863. Evidently he died too late to be included in the register of Confederate dead buried at Chattanooga.
