I am sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Arthur Bergeron. If anyone has more information, please post it here or send me an e-mail. Art and I worked together in the 1980s with the Louisiana Office of State Parks and became good friends. He was a gentleman, scholar, and was always willing to help others in their Civil War research. I last talked with Art a few months ago and he was enjoying his job and life in Pennsylvania. We also discussed a new book that he and Dr. Larry Hewett were currently writing. It was on Civil War generals in the western theater. Hopefully, Dr. Hewett will be able to complete it.
