What about Capt. Henry H. Bibb, Co. "K", 56th Alabama Regt., and Capt. Tyre H. Tathem, Co. "C", 35th Alabama Regt.? Tathem was also Captain of the "Winston Rough and Readys", an AVC company which organized on July 4, 1860.

What about 1st Lt. Alexander Gibson, Co. "K", 19th Alabama Regt., and 1st Lt. Joseph W. Hampton, Co. "L", 28th Alabama Regt.? This isn't a complete list -- just some CSA officers who lived in Winston County.

Contrary to popular opinion, Winston produced as many soldiers who served under the Confederate flag as otherwise.
