Thanks for your research. That is new and interesting information. Does John Hood (J.S. Hood) show up on muster rolls at Corinth before or after the Battle of Shiloh? In Colonel Z.C. Deas report on the 22nd Alabama, he states that only 435 officers and men were fit for duty before the battle. I know Corinth was an unhealthy place, and so maybe John got sick at that time.
