Steve, this is the first time i have visited this site and was startled to see a possible link to my family line. I have an early Wm Walker who ran a ferry and had a tavern at Walker Springs near what is known as the Federal road between the Tombigbee and Ala. river ( think near Bassett creek) Are you familiar with this early community? His daughter married James Waldrom/Waldrum. Another part of my family (Friendly Thames) came to Alabama with the Amos Stacy family and all are buried in a small cemetery named Polar Ridge near old Manatee. This is a few miles outside of Frisco City, Alabama. If this is the same Walker line, it would be the first time I have heard of Indian heritage. Would love to communicate further. You seem very knowledgeable about the area, do you live in Clarke or Monroe county? Although I live in Texas, I visit annually. I came to this site because I usually visit the gravesite of my great-grandfather, Vincent Joiner of the Ala. 32nd who is buried in Grove Hill. Best regards, Elaine Zehner
