My wife's family believes their ancestor served in the CSA army. I have little info to go on. I know their g-grandfather was Sam Edwards born 1849 in Alabama, maybe Pickens Co. Anyway their unknow gg-grandfather, Sam's father, is believed to have served in the Confederate army from that county. Where could I find a list of CSA units from that county? Also where can I find online census records for the same county?
