My ancestor Capt. Edward Malone, Sr., CSA, 1821-1861, was a Mobile and Galveston Freemason; as was his father, Ft. St. Stephens, Ala., U.S. Land Office agent, U.S. Magistrate, Asst. U.S. Indian agent, Thomas Malone, Sr., of the St. Stephens Masonic Lodge and later Mobile. He and Lt. Gaines arrested Aaron Burr. His father in North Carolina, Revolutionary War Ens.
