Hello everyone....I need some information on my G.G grandfather Thomas Bird Calvert, born 1847 either Blount or Winston Co. I have recently started researching this branch of my family. I no longer have footenote, so I am trying to find info on Ancestory.Ugh...
Anyway I found a Thomas B. Calvert at Talledega Camp of Instruction, also the 42nd Al inf, and that he was captured at Vicksburg.
Paroled and exchanged. but nothing further. Because of his age I'm wondering if this is him? Any info would be helpful.
I know this has been discussed before but was the Instruction Camp just for Conscripts?
