The next company muster roll extant after the fall of Vicksburg for Company H was that for the period Nov. & Dec., 1863, he is recorded therein as "Absent, left sick in the hospital at Vicksburg and has not been heard from since," there are no company muster rolls found in the files thereafter, hence, we cannot tell if he did, or did not return to his company.
