Prattville Dragoons?

Hello all,
I am from Prattville Alabama and am well familiar with the history of the Prattville Dragoons, and have read about their original dress uniform, etc.. But amazes me that no PD uniforms have ever showed up. I know of no one around here, and I know a few descendents fo members, that has any uniforms or knowledge of such. I know one person who has the saber carried by Pvt. John Lewis Rawlinson of Prattville.

The lady that had it said that the scabbard, belt and other accoutrements were stolen by an aunt and turned over to the Alabama Archives and History Dept in Montgomery. I wonder if she got the old vet's uniform too?!? I might try to find out who this aunt was and see if there is any record of her donating anything to the museum.

The sabre, in case anyone is interested, is a standard 1860 Lt. Cav. Sabre made under contract by H. Boker, Solingen, Germany. I has it on the blade. It is one of the most well balanced and quick and deadly sabres I have ever held, and I have held many originals, owned a few in the past.
Later,
David Edelen
