James, Artemissa was one of six children that Arthur had by Bidsey,...who actually was his 'second' wife. Artemissa was a twin sister to Narcisse , (my Great-grandmother).
In all, the kids that Arthur had by Bidsey were: James T., Artemissa, Narcisse, Catherine "Kitty", Henry W. (Co. H, 39th AL), and Matilda.

Arthur's five kids by the 'first' wife (name unknown) were: Martha, Eliza, Mary, Arthur Jr. and Ephraim.
Ephraim incidentally, was also married to one of the Butts sisters, Nancy butts. After Ephraim died, Nancy then later married Ephraim's half brother, James T. who was the first son of the kids by Arthur and Bidsey, as shown above.

But wait, it gets better!

Regarding Artemissa's second marriage to George Pickett, they had one daughter that I know of born after they got to Louisiana. Her name was Willie E. (Etta) Pickett. She ended up marrying John Jackson Bounds, who was the son of her mother's twin sister, Narcisse.

A tangled web it is. LOL

If you don't mind me asking, how are you fitted into the Pickett family line? Are you a descendant of Abner?
