Thanks for your response. I can't believe they would not file for money they had coming to them, so your answer makes a lot of sense. I just hate loose ends and the large number of spellings I find for these names makes me wonder if it may be mis-filed some place. Even his final resting list at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond is listed as Brookling.
