Mike --

Since Wright is a common name, this isn't easy. Looks as if George belonged to another Talladega company, the "Talladega Artillery". Initially Co. "E", 5th Alabama Regiment, Capt. Charles M. Shelley, it became Co. "B". Wright was wounded in the left ankle in the fighting among the rocks on South Mountain, Sept. 14, 1862, and left on the field. I don't see a record of him after being released on exchange -- could be that he received as discharge for disability.
