Period states For the War.
Died July 1864.
There is no "Starting date" so to speak. So when did he go into the service? I find only a couple of entries on muster rolls for him, listed as Asthols Brooking (It should be Ascerbus or something similar.) He got clothing in May of 1864. I find no entries for him being marked "present" I always thought he went in in 1861, but now I am wondering why there are not more entries for him. I was trying to determine what battles he might have participated in, but am now at a loss.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
