Thank you for the additional info, George. I think data a such as you provided adds so much to the family history. Took me awhile to find Ascerbus since his name was listed as A.Brookling. When we visited Oakwood the office was closed for lunch. There are thousands of civil war graves so my husband just drove around and parked and we took pictures. Imagine our surprise when a worker led us to Ascerbus' gravesite. It was exactly where we had stopped. Out of all those thousands of graves with stubby, numbered, stones - we had taken a picture of his grave without knowing it was his. I understand they are working now to mark the graves in Oakwood.They have done a lot of work and it is in a lot better shape than just a few years ago.
Your point about resources and the ability to return bodies is certainly correct, although I do run across it occasionally, even with enlisted personnel, but mostly those who died earlier in the war. I have found the final resting place of two of the three brothers.
