That was an interesting letter. I don't have access to my Gettysburg materials at the moment, but I recall that there was some seesaw movement in front of Little Round Top toward the end of the fight when the Federals were trying to reclaim ground occupied by the Confederates during their separate charges. I could also check about the status of the captured Lieutenant, but suggest you post this query on the prisons message board where the experts can provide definitive information.
