This officer has two service files, one with the 10th Alabama Regiment, with which he served as its original Surgeon during 1861. His staff service file is much larger, covering his entire period of service. Copies of both can be ordered by means of this message board.

His papers are at Duke University, Collection #1053:
COURTNEY J. CLARK PAPERS, 1841-1874.

2 vols.
Jacksonville, Ala.

Notes taken by C. J. Clark of Selma, Alabama, as a medical student at Louisville Medical Institute, Louisville, Kentucky, and later as a practicing surgeon in the Confederate Army.

Clarks' life history appears in Thomas McAdory Owen, History of Alabama and Dictionary of Alabama Biography, vol 3, page 328.

According to ADAH papers, during much of 1864 he was surgeon in charge of Madison Hospital, Montgomery, Ala.
