Re: Two Bounds brothers- Co. H, 39 Ala

Stephen Henry Bounds was my g-grandfather. This information about the brother Osborn (Osmond) is all new. I was aware of the younger brother Osborn Bounds and that he "died young" before the rest of the family migrated to Louisiana after the war. Never knew how he died or that he was even enlisted until now thanks to you all. These three brothers were the only sons out of the eleven or twelve kids of William M. Bounds of North Carolina & Martha F. Teat of Georgia. Several of the rest of his daughters also married men who were in the same regiment.

Never knew about Richmond Bounds' POW status either.

Question about the city cemetery at nashville that was mentioned as where Osmond was buried. Would that cemetery have markers of some sort in those plots today or not?

Also, interesting about the Chronic diarrhoea that these men suffered. I read somewhere that was one of the leading causes of death of soldiers during the Civil War if not 'the' leading cause.

Thanks again for all the info.
