John McFarland, Private, Company F, 8th Alabama Infantry, captured by a unit of the 2nd Brigade, 1st Div., Cavalry Corps., M. D. M., U. S. A., April 14, 1865 at Tuskegee, Alabama, transferred to Lt. Wm. Foster, 4th Kentucky Cavalry April 15, no other records
His POW card shows his regiment being in Armstead's Brigade, Buford's Division, Forrest's Corps. This would indicate that he served in the 8th Alabama Cavalry (Ball's-Hatch's) as Alan has indicated.
