That's interesting - hard to find details of the battle with Rousseau. I find it interesting that Burdett refers to the "other regiment", confirming that Clanton had 2 regiments there. Another account that suggested Clanton had only 200 men appears wrong. He was still greatly outnumbered by Rousseau, although he did not have 7000 either. My understanding was that the 6th contested the crossing at Greensport while 8th/9th defended Ten Islands. Given the few casualties he mentions, I assume he was with the 8th/9th. Was Capt. Moore with that regiment?
