I double checked the final parole record cited. The name was given as M. N. WALDRUP, Private, Co. D, 13th Alabama Regiment. The roll was a summary list dated 20 JUN 1865 of Confederate soldiers paroled by forces under the command of BVT Brigadier General M. H. Chrysler at Talladega, Alabama. However, the extracted information on the card for this individual showed that he was paroled on 22 MAY 1865 at Talladega. The card was included in the CMSR for Matthew (two t's) N. WALDROP, Private, Company D, 13th Alabama Infantry.
As might be expected, War Department archivists had a field day with the spelling of the surname: WALDROP, WALDRUP, WALDROPH.
