I recently found out that I have yet another confederate ancestor, Sam (Samuel) H. Cogburn (Cogburn could be spelled differently) who served in the 6th Alabama Cavalry Regiment. On the civil war soldiers and sailors system is shows his name, but on a genealogy site on rootsweb.com, it does not show his name. I would very much like to learn about his service in the civil war-could someone please search his records and inform me about his service? It would be very much appreciated. He would have been quite young - 17 or 18.
