I'm looking for the Lovell surname as I think Jesse Lovell may connect thru vague marriage lines to my Wilsons. Jesse is thought to have been in the Civil War. One military record shows he was a Cp of Instruction at Talladega AL, whatever that means. He was supposedly born ca 1836, the son of George W Lovell and Nancy Bruce. His siblings were Sarah born ca 1829; Balias/Balias/Bayless, born ca 1830; James born ca 1830; Nancy born ca 1834; John born ca 1838; and George Winston born ca 1842. All supposedly born AL, probably in St. Clair Co AL.
To help with my Wilson/Willson research, I need to find proof of a marriage between Jesse Lovell and Elizabeth Jane Cates, about 1857, in AL. Need his death date and where and how he died. Was his wife his widow or had they divorced by the time of his death? I list my Wilson/Willson line below:
William & Sarah Wilson/Willson, born ca early 1800's in SC. Migrated to Walker/Chattooga Counties of GA, probably in the early 1840's. Later found in DeKalb Co Alabama in 1860.

Abraham, my great grandfather, is later found in Morgan Co AL on the 1870 census. He married Sarah Jane Nesmith there in Oct of 1870. She was the d/o Robert Martin Nesmith & Sarah M (Woodall) Nesmith of Lawrence Co AL and later Morgan Co AL.
Would appreciate any help with these lines.
