I am a member of the UDC in Valdosta, Georgia and have found that my ggg grandfather, Rev. J. J. Jones is buried at Trinity Church near Sylvania, Alabama. He has an iron cross of the Civil War on his grave. I would like to add him as a supplemental to my UDC. How can I find out what Company and regiment he was in? I found several J. J. Browns. He is in "The Heritage of Jackson County, Alabama" and it states that he was a soldier, but not what regiment, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
