John Harlow, 22nd AL Infantry

I have a pension application, filed in Chattooga Co. GA, for John Harlow. He states that he enlisted in Co. I, 22nd Alabama Infantry in Sept. 1863 at Troy, Pike County, Alabama. Wounded at Nashville, 14 December, 1864. Captured in hospital in Columbus, GA April, 1865. I have not been able to find any service record for him in this unit. I did find a record that indicates he enlisted in Capt. Goldsmith's Independent Company, Alabama Volunteers(Butler County). I believe this was a home guard unit, mostly men who were paying a substitute to take their place in the army. Would there a be a record somewhere of his capture at Columbus? Anybody know where to look?
