George, thanks for all the info. John Harlow's pension application indicates that he enlisted in Sept. of 1863 and served 20 months in the 22nd. My guess is that he was actually a conscript, so he may not have been on any "original" muster rolls. His pension was granted in 1901 and he drew it until his death in 1910. So, I guess the state of Georgia believed his statements. If, as he says, he was captured in hospital in April of 1865 I doubt he would have been transported to a prison camp. Lee surrendered that month, and the AOT was pretty well smashed in Tennessee. Badly wounded Rebs may have just gotten paroled, took the oath and been done with it. Hopefully there are some records of the hospital and/or it's capture. Got any ideas where to look for such? Well, thanks again for the help.
