Re: Co. K, 22nd Alabama Infantry

Thanks. I'm trying to research what happened to all of them. Myrick was my great-grandmother's brother. He was a physician in Ramah (Ramer). Family story is that he was shot through the abdoman, exiting in the back. He did die at Monterey (now Michie), but they have no idea where those who died at Monterey are buried. 3rd Cpl Jasper Granberry McLendon (spelled incorrectly as McClendon) was my great grandfather's 19-year-old brother. He was WIA, allegedly lost an arm, and was taken prisoner. He died on April 19, 1862 in 4th Street Hospital in St. Louis as a POW. Buried in a marked grave at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. His younger brother, Joseph F. McLendon, age 17, is buried in one of the burial trenches ate Shiloh. Stephen A. Pilley was 2nd Sergeant of Co. K by the time of Shiloh. All the officers, and the 1st Sgt. were either wounded or killed, and he was in command when he was captured on the 2nd day. After he was exchanged, he cecame Chaplain of the 53rd Alabama Cavalry, and is buried in Troy. The 22nd lost very heavily at Shiloh.
