Hiram's Muster Role indicated Perote, Alabama as where he enlisted on Feb. 3, 1863. I live about 10 miles from Perote and it is in Bullock County, not far from the Pike Co. line, so it is not located near the Barbour Co. line.
Bullock Co. was once listed as part of Pike County, Al. also.
