Thanks. There was a large family of Coopers in Butler Co, AL but these were not the Conner family I am looking for. Andrew Jackson Conner's father, Michael, died May 1861. He was 61 and did not serve. A.J.'s mother, Harriett Laird Conner had 13 children and the oldest was 21/22 years when Michael died. The older 2 brothers enlisted early, just old enough for service. The 2 next younger brothers had to wait till the last of the war to serve at 17 yrs old.
