Thank you Miles and Alan for the reply to my post. It's always so interesting to learn more about the Civil War when it concerns the area where ancestors lived and fought.

I'm curious as to where this information is found. Most history books are so general in their accounts of the war. I keep thinking that some time back I saw a Benjamin Wilson mentioned as being a confederate soldier from DeKalb Co AL but I just can't remember where I saw that info. At the time, I didn't think it would pertain to my search, but I'm thinking now that it just might.

This is a really good site; everyone so eager to help and so many knowledgeable people offering their time to search. I'm so glad that I stumbled upon it. Civil War records that contain much information on certain individuals are very hard to find so the help is greatly appreciated.
