My great grandfather served in this unit from 1861 - 65. I have seen several brief histories of the unit but was wondering if anyone knows of an extensive history of the 16th throughout their 4 years, whether it be in the form of a book, letters from men in the unit, journals, diaries, or an documentation of their activity during the war. I live in Nashville and know where my GGF was positioned, within a few hundred yards, on both Dec. 15 & 16, 1864. I'm particularly interested in anything written by members of the 16th during Hood's Tennessee campaign in 1864. Many thanks for any information.
