Re: The Terrible Storms - A Personal Note

Just a few comments on the storms
The largest loss of life in Alabama from a natural disaster - 233 and still counting
The oldest killed, 91. The youngest, 1
7 killed in the county where I live, Madison
Many are still missing or unacounted for.
ONE looter shot and killed in Huntsville
Many looters and scam contracteors on scene within an hour after the storm
Many volunteers, local and out of state on scene within an hour after the storm
Hundreds of power, police and medical volunteers here within hours after the storm, and still here
Local power off 6 days. Some rual areas still without power
A dear friend of mine had a 2 x 4 impailed 3" in her lower back and a doctor sewed her up by flashlight
A woman whos house was blown away, working at a volunteer kitchen 14 hours a day,
cooking "for those who have lost more than me"
A local weatherman reporting "live" until he was blown 40 feet away and suffered cracked ribs.
An Alabama football player from the National Champions who drove to Kansas City and back ( now a Chief)
buying needed items with his own money and giving it all away in a Tuscaloosa parking lot.
Neighbors grilling out for the whole neighberhood. "bring you own meat before it spoil and I will grill it"
Cafes grilling and giving it away - Gas stations raising prices 10 cents a gallon
WalMart giving away ice, bread and peanut butter
Too many good stories to list them all. Too many tragic stories to list them all
Pray for those that lost in one minute all they had worked all their lives for
Pray for those who lost family members
