Re: The Terrible Storms - A Personal Note

There are many many prayers being said for everyone in the areas that were hit. After Ivan, we learned there were more good people here in town than bad. They just don't make the news too often. Just when you think you cannot take one more step with a load of debris, an army of arms just shows up and totes the load for you. Sometimes you don't even get a good look at the faces belonging to those arms. The lesson we learn is that this is what paying it forward is all about. You may be in the army of arms the next go round. I think a lot of this goes back to our roots. We come from survivors.

I've been so inspired by the constant stream of messages on facebook. Toomer's for Tuscaloosa is awesome. I'm having a better feeling on the state of the union, or our part of it anyway, after I'm gone because maybe more of our youth have learned at least the basics of humanity. They may not know the 'historical fact' we'd like them to but they are showing they have huge hearts and are willing to share them.
