Thank you very much for using your interests and talent to help me find out information so quickly on Hosea (Hosey) Fowler. The information helps me understand what his life was like in light if the fact that he had his first newborn son in April of 1862. I can only imagine, from what I have read about the battles he fought, an then his imprisonment in Elmira. New York is one frozen place in winter! Written reports say that soldiers at Elmira Prison Camp were living in tents, then poorly built wood shacks without warm clothing.
