Most of the 140 marked burials at Confederate Rest Cemetery are Alabama soldiers captured at Island Ten, April 8, 1862. Those included are men from the 1st Alabama Regiment as well as Col Baker's 1st Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee and Col. Walker's 40th Tennessee Regts.

The cemetery is located just outside the University of Wisconsin football stadium at Camp Randall.
