Co. G 11th Ala Inf, Diary

First, many thanks to Alan Pitts for telling me about Capt. McMath's Wartime Diary.
I went to the Archives in Montgomery and was allowed access to the original to transcribe.
Thay said since I was related to the Captain, I could use the real thing as long as I left them a copy
for the files there. After three of four trips there, I felt I had done the best I could in telling
giving light to what I found to be an interesting piece of Confederate History.
He tells of Soldiers in his command who died, both in battle and from disease, and has dates included.
He also mentions a recruiting trip from VA. to Tuscaloosa, during which the sidewheeler he was on was
involved in a collision of some sort and almost sank.
Anyone interested in reading my transcript may do so at the ADAH in Montgomery, or contact me through this site.
Again, thank you Alan, for your help.
George
