Alan- There were several letters exchanged and a recomendation from a Capt. Shortridge who served with Co., F 63rd, Al .

I stated something wrong and I want to correct it -He was in the hospital when the war ended and stayed there for 4 weeks after and then he " just went home". It just seems sad he did not get his pension.

I have not seen anything about "1st Al. Reserves" , where might I find some information?
