For example, defense of South Mountain (Battle of Boonsboro MD, Sept. 14, 1862) is a great story -- heavy losses step by step as men of Robert Rodes' Alabama Brigade fall back fighting over the rocks to the crest of the ridge. Each one of the battles Miles listed is worth a chapter in a book.
