Depending on how many stops took place along the line, travel might take two weeks, give or take a few days. The 13th Alabama Regiment probably arrived in Richmond in mid-July and went to Yorktown during the late summer of 1861. This meant about nine to ten months in camp prior to McClellan's advance on Yorktown in early April 1862.
