Re: James Kilpatrick
In Response To: Re: James Kilpatrick ()

I am not related to Kilpatrick.

My gr-gr grandfather, William Castleberry, was the affiant for James Kilpatrick's father's statement of his claim. When I tried researching the battle (Knoxville, Oct 23,1862), I could find no reference to it.

I was hoping to find the relationship of the Kilpatrick's to my Castleberrys. Three of of William's sons and one son-in-law served from Coosa Co. Two of the sons, Jeremiah and Joseph served in Hillard's Legion and were also enlisted by William Stubblefield, a cousin to the Castleberrys.

Just looking for relationships and battle information.

I have seen Kilpatrick's records on Footnote. My first encounter with those records was in a search for William Castleberry, who is listed as a Confederate Citizen. After posting, I looked up Kilpatrick's records to see if they gave me more information about the battle.

Thanks for your reply.

Sandra
