I am looking for the estate of Absalom Garner 1801-1865. He was living in Conecuh County Alabama in 1860, just before the Civil War broke out. I believe that his son Claleb Garner 1838-1865? may be buried on this property. Caleb Garner enlisted in the 4th Alabama Infantry, Regiment, Company "E" on April 1, 1861 in Sparta, Alabama. He fought in the Battle of Getty'sburg and supposedly died of his wounds in 1863. Records that I have obtained from the National Archives, in Washington D.C. says that he recovered from his wounds and fought in the Battle of Wilderness.
