Re: Sgt. William J. White,39th Alabama Infantry

According to the document that I have for the Roll of Honor soldiers after the battle at Murfreesboro, was for their outstanding bravery, valor and actions on the battlefield. Sgt. White was promoted to 2nd. Lt., as well as others in the 39th Al Infantry who were in the battle that day. The report states that they never wavered or hesitated from the beginning to the end of the conflict. The report also states that they were most conspicuous for gallantry, good conduct.
I do not know the deed they did that day, but it was exceptional for them to get their promotions. i would like to be able to get in touch with some of Lt. White's
ancestors to give them a copy of this report. I do not know if he received a pension or not. I know he lived in Barbour county, Al. after the war.
